Fun scrambling, only one other guy on east ridge
Did the Tour D'Abyss climb, lots of fun scrambling.
w/ Nelson. Some airy moves, but i thought we were off route more than anything...
Started on the Evan's rd, climbed the east ridge over to the Sawtooth and reached the summit of Evans.
Climbed Bierstadt via East Ridge. Started from Mt. Evans parking area, used the first steep gully to get down to the valley and ascended directly to the base of Pt. 13,641. Climbed directly to the top of Pt. 13,641 on a nice solid rock then stayed on the ridge crest. After summiting Bierstadt did Sawtooth traverse to Mt. Evans. Great solid granite, nice weather, incredible views!
Very cool. Cold day and the Evans road was closed so had to park at Summit Lake. Recommend this for sure.
This was an interesting but exhausting climb, one of many times I have summited this peak. Among our group, Shanna and I were really huffing and puffing back up the hill to the switchback where we started. We never did make it over to the Sawtooths that day like we originally intended.
Great ridge, but long day from Gomer. Descended via East Face and would not recommend.
Climbed this one last year. I hurt my ankle, so getting down the mountain and back up the gulley to the car killed me. Cool ridge, though!
East Ridge to Bierstadt to Sawtooth to Evans.
Started at the big switchback on the Mt. Evans road near 13,000. Descended to 12,000 and ascended the southeast ridge of Bierstadt. After negotiating the two class 3 towers, reached the bierstadt summit and crossed the Sawtooth. Ascended mt. evans and returned to the car with mobs of people.
