Re: Nice!

Rich,

Are you aware this is Mount Powell in CO, not CA?

Re: Nice!

yes, believe it or not, i grew up about 15 miles from mt. powell in CO, so i'm very familiar with it, but not the NE side of the peak. Sadly i've never hiked in from that direction.

Impressive...

Great composition and lighting! Did you use the wide angle lense for that? Do you mind sharing your camera settings (aperture, focal length, etc.) on this one?

Re: Impressive...

Thanks! Yes I did use a wideangle. For this image I actually used two different exposures (digital) and blended them together in photoshop. The effect is similar to using a neutral-density filter, to brighten up the darker foreground. The top exposure was 1/160 sec at f 6.3. The bottom (foreground) exposure was 1/90 sec at f 5.0.

Re: GREAT SHOT!

It's interesting to see the opposite view from across the valley! That lake really is a tundra paradise.

Fantastic!

I've only seen one other shot from here, and as much as I liked it, this one is a cut above. Not many people visit here. I am in awe!

Re: Fantastic!

Thanks, Todd. Your photos are really good so your compliment means a lot! This area is a very cool spot with a fun forest bushwacking hike in. I'd like to go back there sometime for sure.

Thanks for the great shot. Your work is consistently outstanding.
