Parking at this trailhead you can find the Daggett Lake trail just across this meadow, 20 - 30 yards into the trees. I've seen other routes mentioned that bushwhack straight up from here. Alternatively, to avoid bushwhacking for a while turn left onto the Daggett Lake trail. This trail rises gradually and @ 10 minutes in turns right and back towards the ridgeline that will take you to Daggett Peak. At @ 30 minutes in you'll come to a large meadow. Turn south and cross the meadow into the trees and after @ 10 minutes you'll see the Chepeta Peak summit a ways off but first you must climb Daggett Peak. There are acres of rock fields and scrambling before reaching Daggett Peak. Unfortunately, there will be more rock fields and scrambling on the down side of Daggett and also to ascend Chepeta Peak. Along the shoulder between Daggett and Chepeta Peaks you'll see beautiful views of Daggett Lake to your left and Chepeta Lake, Papoose and others to your right. I have submitted other images on the Chepeta home page showing the trail, meadow, etc.
