Trail

The trail through the Birch thicket is wet and miserable. It is in my opinion far better to leave the trail at about 10, 850 feet just below its high point and climb easy class 2 terrain to about 11,000- 11,100 feet and traverse easy class 2 talus and ledges to a point about 200 feet above Birch Lake. This is above the thicket and above the cliffs from which springs emerge. Follow a buttress down to the lake. Birch wrestling for 50 feet is required to get across the outlet which has an odd dam built across it. There is an out of place airplane tire further along the shore of the lake.

Re: Trail

Thanks for your suggestion, which I've referenced from the main page.
