Amazing

That's an amazing photo. I know it will also have great memories attached to it. I did a Bivi on top of the Schwarlemere (on horizon in your pic left of Loberhorn) and its a great memory. I need to do more. And that one on the Flank looks great.

fantastic post on the route.

Re: Amazing

Thanks John - yes, it is one of my favourite views and I have two versions of it up on the wall of my office - one an A4 photo and the other an enlarged canvas print zoomed in on the distant Lake Thunersee and the sunset.
Glad the view inspires you to do more... well funnily enough it had that effect on me at the time, when I was sort of semi retired from mountaineering. But I had got an urge to climb the Eiger West Flank solo... and bottled out at 3600m. Nevertheless especially that bivvy, which I came to call the 'Eiger Hilton' started me on a journey which led to the top of Aconcagua in 2011 and a summit bivvy on Mont Blanc in 2013 - and at least as many other new summits as I had climbed in my so called prime back in the 1980's...
Keep it lit
Mark
