Bad-ass
Hiked up to a new lava flow that we met at around 3100m, pretty spectacular even during the day time. Rain could be pretty fierce, an umbrella is your best friend on that mountain.
My group reached the summit, I personally fell about 100 metres short due to lack of time to regain enough energy to make for the summit. Very difficult climb, up and down, lots of loose volcanic ejecta lying around. 60 degree slope for the last few hundred metres.
On February 25, we also saw the active lava flows coming out of the crater at night. Spectacular!
