Elbrus is a fantastic place for ski touring. I really enjoyed it! We were in May 2016 there. Snow line was about 2700 m - just about hundred meters attitude from Base camp. We booked huts 3-4 month before trip - and when we arried high camp was almost full, so I recommend to book it as earlier as possible. There are two high camps on north side: Elbrus tours camp and Oslik camp. We prefer first one.
