Run Up the North Ridge Under Stormy Skies  Sucess!

1:15 up, the skies were dark but no real rain until I was on my way down luckily and mostly off the scramble section of the North Ridge. Down the ridge in 24 minutes, and then down Rattlesnake Gulch in less than 15 more to escape the rain.

North Ridge  Sucess!

Great hike with my buddy Ben Kiser and his wife. Went up the north ridge and experimented with different Class 3 features to build a bit more confidence before other peaks. Beautiful morning.

Up the North Ridge  Sucess!

Fun morning hike up the north ridge with my wife and Jesse Sumrak. We had the summit all to ourselves. Fantastic views north to RMNP and NW to the Indian Peaks. Class 2 route with some short Class 3 maneuvers.

Eldorado #18  Sucess!

Good spring hike with rkymtn. Enjoyed finding our way to the summit with some off-trail fun. Took a bit longer than expected though...

Deep Snow/North Ridge  Sucess!

With Buster. Lots of deep snow once we left Rattlesnake trail. Tough going but fun. Buster keeps on impressing me with the crap he will put up with and plow through with me. Truely an amazing mountain dog. We could not find a trail down and just bush wacked through the snow down the steep slope to the train tracks. Fun day.

North Ridge  Sucess!

A fun hike with my wife. Route finding and easy scrambles along the ridge made for a more engaging outing than a typical walk-up ascent. There are beautiful views of Eldorado Canyon, the Continental Divide, and the eastern plains. The weather was phenomenal as well.

North Ridge   Sucess!

North Ridge was fun, regardless of late start, almost noon, this hike/climb haven't disappointed me at all. Great sunday afternoon in the hills!

NW ridge  Sucess!

Took the scrambly n.w. ridge to the lower northern summit. Had to tag the 4th class summit in stealth mode as somebody was working at the radio tower. Pretty exposed little summit block! I used the tree to aid with the downclimb.

Just inside JeffCo  Sucess!

Wish there wasn't a radio tower on top.

best hike in the Boulder group!  Sucess!

hiked twice this summer. both times ascended north ridge and descended northeast ridge. the ridge is a fun escape from the steep, plodding trails to the rest of the Boulder summits

N. Ridge>NE Ridge Loop  Sucess!

Biked from Boulder to the trailhead. Ascended North Ridge, descended the NE ridge. The going really isn't bad at all once you are on top of the ridges, it's in obtaining the ridges where problems might arise. 1hr 40 mins up, 1 hr 30 mins down.

North Ridge  Sucess!

We went up the north ridge and descended the northeast ridge. Actually, I kind of preferred the north ridge on this one. While on top we listened to the playoffs while eating lunch. This was when John Elway engineered his famous game ending drive to defeat the Cleveland Browns.

Northeast Ridge Route  Sucess!

Hiked the Northeast Ridge Route from Rattlesnake Gulch Trailhead. Somehow I ended up on the North Ridge Route on the descent, even though I was trying to return the way that I came up. It can get very disorienting in the trees. I ended up descending via a long talus field just east of the North Ridge Route. Definitely the most challenging out of the four major Boulder Group peaks.

NE Ridge  Sucess!

I tried this mountain earlier in the year and got to within 100-200 ft of the summit before I turned around - ouch. I wasn't expecting so much deep snow on the upper mountain and it ate up my time. I barely made it back to the car with daylight.

This time was much smoother and I made the summit without incident. Saw two others on the route! Awfully busy for an obscure mountain without a trail.

North Ridge Loop  Sucess!

my recommendation - go down the way you climb up this mountain. We decided to do a loop and did some tedious bushwacking - nearly wore our group out. Nice little mountain otherwise.

Solo Sunset  Sucess!

Set off in late afternoon for a speedy scramble to the summit from open space access on the NE side of the mountain. Great scrambling. Deep snow up top. Nighttime descent was interesting.

Not Keiners, but  Sucess!

Mike and I had originally planned to climb Keiners on Long's this day, but with the forecast for snow we decided on something else. We set out to run/hike the major peaks along the Boulder skyline from Eldorado to Sanitas. Eldorado proved to be a challenge as we ascended the North Ridge and down the NE Ridge. The N Ridge was by far more enjoyable. We stopped just after noon with 18 miles and 7200 ft, due to the call of Falafel King. Great outing.

Route Climbed: NE ridge Date Climbed: April 2005  Sucess!

this is a pretty fun mtn. to climb. There's lots of scrambling on big, loose boulders high up which is cool. summit is pretty lame though; reminds me of east coast summits.
