Ellmauer Halt via Leuchsweg  Sucess!

Technically easy but long and hard to find the line...takes time :-)

First Via Ferrata  Sucess!

Much easier and faster than i was expecting, didn't real feel the need to clip on. A great first experience but noted not to get over confident.

Kopftörlgrat  Sucess!

Used rope a few pitches only. Descended by Gamsängersteig. Overall a worthwhile climb as long as you do not belay continously. If you do belay too often it can become lengthy. Good rock.

Route Climbed: Normal route from "Grutten hut" Date Climbed: 04 August 1995  Sucess!

A wonderful day for my friend and me. But many people on the mountain are the reason for some dangers (falling rocks). I think this mountain is overcrowded in the vacation time from Germany (July - August).

Route Climbed: Gamsängersteig Date Climbed: July 20th, 2003  Sucess!

With my Jasmina we were first time in Wilder Kaiser. Thanks to a clever logistics, we did a very enjoyable tour. We first left on Saturday bicycles on Wochenbrunnen Alm, drove by car on the opposite side of Kaisers into Kaiserbach Valley, climbed through Steinerne Rinne and summited Hintere Goinger Halt, descended on the south side to the Grutten Huette and slept on open air some 100 meters above it. On Sunday we climbed as first tourists Ellmauer Halt, descended to Wochenbrunnen Alm and cycled all around the massif to get car again. From Slovenia to Wilder Kaiser we have 4 hours and half to drive.

It was a foggy day, couldn´t see anything; ascent from the Gruttenhütte; nice "via ferrata".

Route Climbed: Kaiserschützensteig Date Climbed: 08/22/1999  Sucess!

Slept in the nice Anton-Karg-Hut (Hinterbärenbad). Started early to do the whole package (Kleine Halt, Gamshalt, Ellmauer Halt). Nice via ferrata, but high risk of stone fall in the gully leading to the Kleine Halt (you should definitely take a helmet).

From the summit of the Ellmauer Halt we descended on the Gamsängersteig towards Gruttenhütte, but then ascended to the Kopftörl (a pass allowing again to get to the northern side of the main Kaiser ridge). Then we descended via Kaiser valley to Kufstein train station. A very long day!
