Great Read

Thanks for posting your successful ascent of Cho Oyu, remarkable achievement indeed.
Hopefully you will be able to summit more 8,000mt peaks in the future but, check your oxygen bottle :)

Faulty bottle

Glad you enjoyed the read. Not sure if you've used a TopOut mask before, but I certainly did test it with the bottle while sitting in my tent at 7000M. The bag 'appeared' to be functioning as usual at 1tpm and 4lpm. Breathed in the oxygen (which is mixed with ambient air of course) and couldn't tell if it was functioning at max capacity because I wasn't moving and was sitting while testing it. However, you're right. My instincts screamed 'something is up with the bottle', but after a simple test I was content. Lesson learned.

The neat thing about the experience is that secretly I was planning on attempting without oxygen if all went smoothly and I suppose in a way I received a touch of what I asked for. Careful what you wish for!

Take care.
