Climbed Seigal, Engineer, Darley and PT 13132 from about 11,300' on the Engineer Pass road. Wanted to get higher, but started leaking coolant and overheating so we had to make it a longer hike. Actually turned out quite pleasant that way as we were able to explore some seldom hiked areas away from the road!
I drove many years ago over Engineer Pass, and on the way down to Ouray I decided not to take this road ever again. This part of road from Engineer pass towards Hwy 550 above Ouray is rough.
It was a nice hike with Duchess via lovely Bear Creek. Amazing fields of wildflowers - felt like in paradise. Higher up no hikers on the Bear Creek Trail.

Engineer AFive years ago I did the Bear Creek Trail while on my Great Colorado Loop trip. This time I took the lazy hiker route during FJ Cruiser Summit X.
