Busy trail up to Ensign Peak. Though I've lived in Utah most of my life this was my first time. Great views from the summit and good historical interpretation on the trail up. Lost most of the crowds on the way up to Meridian.
mild but very windy February day. trail very muddy. I saw no other hikers except some people working on the picket fence near the trailhead.
Strolled up to see the view of the SLC valley. Makes you realize how uncity SLC is. I counted 10 tall buildings.
Quick and easy, good views of the winter sunset.
I hiked this my wife and brother. We watched the sunset and the enjoyed watching Salt Lake City light up as it got dark.
Great hike for a quick cardio workout.
I'll always have a soft spot for this little peak: it was the first SP-listed peak I climbed when I got back into shape after about 15 years of almost no hiking.
Along with Meridian Peak.
I love going up Ensign, and it's a great place to take visitors from out of town. For such a short hike, you get a superb view.
Took 15? minutes to climb and less than 5 to run down. Cute little mountain with great views of SLC.
Ran with a friend from the Capitol to the summit and back. It was a quick workout and a great way to shake out the legs before our half marathon in Bryce Canyon tomorrow. Lovely views of the city and a storm-shrouded Wasatch to boot!
Watched the sunset on a beautiful fall evening. Then my wife and I handed out flashlights to all the kids for an enjoyable night hike down.
Took my dog on this hike, and we were at the top in 20 mins... kept going on the trail north above city creek. Pretty reds and yellows of fall are coming out!
Nice leisurely walk on a gorgeous day in Salt Lake. Excellent views of the entire valley and even Mount Nebo to the south.
Probably the shortest, easiest hike for its type of view. Nice look at SLC. Usually crowded, but only one other couple on top this day.
Ascended south face. Descended east ridge.
I think this must be Utah's most popular trail.
Out of respect for Brigham, I won't comment on the hike. We set basecamp on the road below. When we decided to set up advanced basecamp, we realized we had already summited. We rested and tried to soak in what we had accomplished. Fantastic views in a remote setting. Lightning strikes all around our party made our hair stand on end. Running descent!
Several times. Great views, and a good place to take visitors.
