Hardest hike of my life, nearly killed me. Do not recommend for people over 21.
I hiked this one with my 4-year-old nephew, Jonah (his first hike without being carried); my 2 daughters; my sister, Laura; and my brother, Guy. The lights of the City were beautiful under a full moon.
January 1, 2007: Ensign Peak via the standard trail.
December 7, 2008: Ensign Peak with ridge traverse to Dude Peak.
March 1, 2009: Ensign Peak and Meridian Peak via Antennas Loop.
Quite an easy hike with a great view of the Salt Lake Valley. It's about a 15 minute hike. Maybe 1/4 of a mile.
Nice views of the city at night. Not really a mountain, but I guess it doesn't hurt to sign the log.
Many times, but the most memorable was with a group of youngsters from the local church group. On top it was obvious to all that the amazing lightning storm that was moving across the valley was headed right for us.. obvious to everyone except for one of the leaders... who had to give his prepared sermon, even though the strikes were getting steadily closer. After a few strikes that were VERY close, I decided to bail and about 5 min later as I was running down the trail, a strike came really close to the group and I had to chuckle at all of the people running off the summit!
hiked many times, a good place to take visitors that do not have time for a day hike-overlooks the city
Not a mountain by any means, but I've "climbed" it dozens of times. It's a 15 minute walk up a very small hill.
This one is pretty short
