Espigüete. Main summit from the East Point.

Espigüete (2,450 ms) is one of the most famous peaks in Cordillera Cantábrica. After climbing its north face, I gone down by the eastern ridge. From the East Point, a last look to the summit, to say see you soon. 16/11/2008.

beautiful mountains

As I see Spanish mountains received much more snow than Tatras in October, but it's gonna change in upcoming weeks... great place that I plan to visit, will April/May be good time for ascending some main peaks in Picos de Europa range?

What are the mountains there in far background of the view ?

Re: beautiful mountains

Hi Tomek. Yes, spring is a good moment; usually, there is still quite snow and in better conditions than in midwinter. Moreover, weather is better and dayligth longer.

The mountains in the background are a part of Cordillera Cantábrica. I can only identify Picos de Mampodre in the right edge. That mountain range is 500 km long and Espigüete stands to the south of the main divide. Picos de Europa is the most famous area in Cordillera Cantábrica but that is much bigger.
