Evening on Hvannadalshnúkur

This is from the north, a couple hundred meters below the summit. It looks very difficult to climb it from this side, but when we got closer, and the thin clouds dissolved a bit, we saw a ramp on the northwest side that wasn't real steep. We set up camp northeast of the summit structure, on a big flat expanse below the steep sharp ridge on the left side of this image. Next morning we climbed the ramp. 18 May 2017.
