Tough climb, very louzy weather all the way up, clear on summitday though with a strong wind all day and night.
Trip report and more pics can be found on my site, see my profile if you want to find out, I am not permitted to post it here.
Everest is a very serious mountain, and this year again underestimated with 6 deaths as a result.
Summited 6:45 in the morning just 30min after sunset with a beautiful view over Tibet and the Nepali mountains. The North Ridge: A snow hike to camp3 (8300m) and from there quite demanding climbing to the summit. more informations under www.bergbote.de
Although my dream of reaching the summit did not come to fruition, I would not trade my experience for anything!
Nepal was an incredible cultural experience and the people I was with (Mountain Link www.mountain-link.com) , as well as the people I met during the expedition, were well worth the expeirience - speaking specifically of Dr. Luanne Freer www.basecampmd.com and her staff without whom, my trip would have been a tragic one.
(Will post photos before too long)
Mountainmadness Expedition. I reach the second camp at 21,300ft (6.494mts).
Well, another tough year for me. Reached 27,000' before turning back - between the South Col and the balcony. Last year it was a lung infection with a horrbile cough, this year it was similar but worse above 23,000'. The symptoms were idential to altitude sickness so maybe I was not meant to be that high :)
Anyway, I accomplished my goal of doing my best and getting as high as possible without endangering anyone.

GOING BACK IN 2003! Reached 27,200 feet, 8250m before lung infection stopped my bid. Please see the trip report on Summit Post. Please visit my site after a complete tour of SP. www.alanarnette.com
