Devastation

Interesting to see how little this particular area has recovered. About 2 years after the eruption my wife and I hiked to Norway Pass on the east end of Spirit Lake. The most notable thing to me was the fat ground squirrels--There were no trees for the predators to perch in.

I agree. There were areas of regrowth but the Pumice Plain was still so barren.
