First Chains

The first set of steel chains which assist your hike/scramble from Świnicka Przełęcz (the pass west of Świnica) to the summit of Świnica. If there is no snow and the rock is dry you might think these chains are unnecessary but things are completely different when the ground is covered by snow or it is icy, or just wet. As far as I know, this year from June to September there were four fatal accidents on this trail, i.e. the traverse of the Świnica Massif (Świnica Pass to Zawrat Pass). 23 October 2012
