If you enjoy trad climbing, the East Buttress is definitely a must! We went in late June07, not as hot or as crowded as later in the summer.

Trick Photo

Clearly these gents staged the photo to appear to some that they were climbing. In fact, this author believes, they set up the photo by putting their feet above their heads, and are actually climbing down, headfirst. ; D
Either direction, looks great!

Isn't it amazing how perspective can confuse? That photo is a close-up (by zoom) of the first pitch of East Buttress. If you look at all the posted Images (at the bottom of the SP page) there is another image of that pitch taken by our guide at the belay spot above, while I was climbing.
