It was a cold morning to get out there and set up waiting for the sun to come up. But, when you see the results then you know it was worth it.

Well, it wasn't entirely accidental. The day before I took this shot, I had driven around and spotted a few different places to come back to in the morning. And I made sure to be there before sunrise to get ready, but it was all worth it.

Beautiful

Another calendar shot Marc. It was 6 degrees here in Lehi again this morning. I'll bet you hate that warm weather in Santa Barbara and are very jealous. I'm going snowshoeing today.

venture away from the television, so I can
check out some green junipers & red rocks.
(Think it was 70 degrees yesterday in central AZ. The rattlesnakes will soon appear, along with the butterflies!)

6 degrees is a bit too cold for me. I hate to rub it in, but we have had a heat wave here the past several days. I'm talking about T-shirt weather. But, we are heading out to Joshua Tree this morning. We are hoping to get a good campsite and make a big fire. I love J-Tree in winter. It's not as crowded as the rest of the year.

Lone Pine Peak produces some of the best sunrise photos. It has these steep jagged ridges that make dark shadows on the background ridges. You just can't go wrong. I am still waiting for the perfect shot of this peak, and I know what I need for that. I wish I was living in Lone Pine so I could predict the light and what I need to do for my perfect photo.
I would love to travel to Europe and see a little more of The Alps. Unfortunately, I am still working full time and can't go far from the home base.
