2nd of two  Sucess!

Only forty five minutes from Bother Knob via the trail on the ridge and the 4 WD road. Excellent views from the top which must make it a popular camping spot. It took an hour to hike back to the pavement at 924.

from Oak Knob  Sucess!

Actually drove to Flagpole. Then hiked to the end of the fireroad that goes into West Virginia from Bother Knob and back. The next day, hiked to Pond Knob, then Oak Knob and part way down the trail to the East before turning around and hiking back to camp at Flagpole. Trails are well marked.

Racing the rain  Sucess!

Parked about a mile up the road and hiked it from there. Easy, fun, but incoming storms kept me moving fast.

Hiked in with my dog. We elected not to drive our 4x4. We also hiked part way up from Hone Quarry but left due to darkness. Very steep on the Hone Quarry trail. Beautiful forests.
