New Year's Eve hike when, while clear skies, it was cold and windy. The road to the summit was closed, so I hiked up the .7 miles from the turn off from the main road. Beautiful, yet cold. Nice way to spend New Year's Eve.
A family climb. It was a good summit hike. Not really a great view, but a really nice climb up to the top. A good training hike.
Good for a run. Long day. Hit this, Sanitas and Haystake Peak up north.
Not the most interesting hike in Boulder, but still worthwhile. Crossing the road (especially now with the construction) is a real distraction, but its a quick shot up to the top and some nice views along the way.
Went from Chautauqua Park up the Flagstaff Mountain trail. Enjoyable, but crossing the road six times up and six times back kind of detracted from it. Having done Green Mountain just a couple weeks ago, I preferred Green to Flagstaff--it's just as convenient but "feels" a bit more secluded.
First of 4 peaks on the day, beautiful training run.
did this numerous times and enjoyed every time - even proposed to my wife on this mountain
Nice morning or afternoon hike I've enjoyed a few times since my arrival in Boulder 2 years ago. Always enjoy the close proximity of this and other excellent trails in Boulder.
Shirtless in November! Awesome trail run from home. First time up on foot; been up dozens of times on a bike.
Great views and varied climbing. I have been there in different times and seasons, all very nice!
Climbed this with Chris Gerber after starting from Mt. Sanitas--2nd summit of our attempt to climb Sanitarado, a climb of all 6 of the Boulder foothills peaks (mt. Sanitas, Flagstaff Mountain, Green Mountain, Bear Peak, South Boulder Peak, and Eldorado Mountain). We missed the last due to ominous-looking weather, and so dubbed our 17 mile day SanitaSoBo. Great day!
My favorite run! The frontside sucks running up, but the backside is a thing of beauty. Can't top this as a run.
Have done this mountain by itself and in combination with Green Mountain, South Boulder and Bear Peak. Nice trail and good conditioning climb in the winter.
We use to run up the road for cross country practice in high school.
I've climbed the Flagstaff Mountain Trail and the North Face.
I started from Panorama Point. Nice hike, the weather was great, and I saw maybe four or five other hikers on the trail. The trail itself is muddy in places right now, but it's good to do some actual hiking after the long winter!
While I actually haven't 'summited,' I've been up this mountain countless times (like most who've resided or studied in Boulder). Have yet to eat at the Flagstaff House. Awesome views of Boulder & the Great Plains from the roadside pullouts. My friend Uy & I scrambled up to the holiday star from the roadside one night years ago, slipping en route. That was fun. :) Would like to ride my bicycle up someday.
I have climbed Flagstaff several times. The first time, I climbed the trail, and then went straight up. You cross the road a few times. I have run/hiked to the summit a few times as well. You can just about see some of the snow-capped Rockies from the summit.
