Reverse Flatiron
Approached it from Massacre Grounds. Returned on Jacob's crosscut. Almost no one going in this way. Lot's of scrambling and trail finding, but not too hard. It was fun. Good to do with friends.

Flat Out Beautiful
Wonderfully scenic and diverse hike that kicked my butt thoroughly, doing this after a 6 AM flight from Chicago. Perfect weather: 60 degrees and clear.

Nice Day
This is an ok hike. Not as hard as it is made out to be. Not my favorite hike.
Been up to Superstition Peak before, but never on this side of the range. Went up with Brit in about 1:15 and then bagged the peak above, went back to the Flatiron, and then ran down quick to the campground in 26 minutes. Super cool and definitely a classic. It's a climb kind of like Camelback, but over twice as far.
Very beautiful area and hike. Headed up class 3 terrain for the last couple of hundred yards to the saddle, then back down the main trail after tagging the Flatiron. Camped at the Lost Dutchman State Park campground.

Proper route helps
I attempted to climb Flatiron 4 days before this but foolishly forgot to check SummitPost to get the route information and tried going up the next canyon around on the west side. The Siphon Draw trail was much easier, in spite of the steep rock scramble. After Flatiron I went over and went up the high point and then scrambled down the east side and discovered the trail going to Superstition Peak. I hiked in that direction for awhile and then had to turn around due to time.

Draw and Drama
The drama comes from the visit to the crash site, very sad and erie. Weather was perfect and we spent an hour and a half roaming around and hitting the high points. Crowds could have been worse.
Hot and busy on a weekend. Also completed summit above Flatiron.

Old Quads a barkin!
Fantastic scramble except for the crowds. Saturday, perfect temp, just after the holidays, dry. Oh well. Just a bit sore from this one (I'm 59) because I haven't done anything this strenous in over 8 months but WELL WORTH THE VIEW!

Not so tough as the page makes it sound,I think, but a lot of fun...except for the huge crowds.

First time up. Won't be the last.
Great hike although I did bust up my ankle pretty good on the way down.
Standard Siphon Draw route. Thought it was a great idea to hike this in Aug...needless to say it was like a million degrees and I was the only one out there. Great hike!!

Desert Beauty
I can't say much else other than it was out of this world. The landscape was just ridiculous-- made me think about Wiley Coyote and Roadrunner. Awesome cacti; fun trail; incredible rock formations; 3000 ft elevation gain. Also, the view from the unnamed peak is way better than the flatiron. I'm glad that I spent my one day in phoenix doing this... Overall, it was an experience I will never forget.

Flatiron + peak 5024
Been meaning to visit my friend MF in Phoenix for years. Unfortunately, the Easter traffic from Vegas was a little thick.
MF showed me the route from the restaurant; this route avoids the day use fee at the park. He had been up Flatiron about 25 times.
I was sick, but we still made it in 1 h 25 m.
Wonderful flowers -- phacelias, lupines, hyacynths, penstemon, poppies...poppies will make them sleep...
