Pikas everywhere
We have pikas in the sierra but nowhere near as many. Fun to hear and see the cute little buggers everywhere.

Easiest access to the divide without a car
Elk strewn in summer. A fun ski in winter with drop-in options along the South face.

snowy
bagged it en route to Hallet. Two big patches of snow above treeline and a bunch below. Cool views, saw some elk, and not many yuppies because of the snow.

Summited...sorta
Climbed in spectacular weather but there was a lot of snow. Hunted around for the summit marker for about an hour...no dice. Felt like the top though!

Flat
True to its name. Very scenic snowshoe up, with views of Long's.

One of my first attempts at "winter" mountaineering. Temps were measured at about 13 degrees on the summit with strong winds. Estimated below-0 wind chills.
This isn't really even a summit, but it's a beautiful hike with good views of Longs. 3.5 hours ctc.

Great hike..even though my hiking boot blew out on the way down.
Great hike! Had lunch behind the boulders where I looked down and found a penny! Must have been a popular place to sit sheltered from the wind. Want to do this hike again. Hiked on up Hallet as well...outstanding views all along this hike.

Right couloir
Climbed the couloir right of the Dragon Tail. Dragon tail had deep snow and some concern over avalanche. The cornice was huge. After topping out, went to other side, descended and then climbed the leftmost couloir on the Northwest side.
