With Scot. Started from the Quandary winter trailhead. Old avy debris off one of Quandary's couloirs near the Blue Lakes dam. We avoided the standard summer approach (avy danger) by taking the ridge up the left side of it. Scrambled through some stiff 3rd class cliffs on the way up, came down farther up Monte Cristo creek (above the lake) which was a better route.

Great ski
Short skin, great snow, and an excellent ski down the steep east chutes. Our group split into two parties to ski two different routes of varying commitment and steepness. I made a quick video of the outing for beta:

Nice spring weather in winter
Skinned to Q saddle, dropped skis and hoofed it to summit. About 50 feet from the high point, a large male goat stood on the very top of the summit and stared me down. I sat for awhile hoping he would leave but he was determined not to give his ground. On my descent, i kept looking back. He probably stood there for over an hour. I still marked this peak as summitted, but technically a goat stole my summit. Skiing was ok, sun softened the wind crust a bit, then too much. Probably mid 30's with nice breeze and bluebird skies.

"Spicy Black and Tan"
Climbed what I think is the couloir right of the standard black-and-tan, with a spicy mixed finish that dumps you on a little subsidiary ridge just short of the summit. Continued to Drift. Trip report.

Lost iPhone
Traversed from Drift to Fletcher. Lots of loose rock on the traverse, but very pretty area.
I lost my iPhone somewhere between the summit (might be there) and the end of the rocky upper part. Please let me know if you find it! It has my name and email on the lock screen.

From Quandary's west ridge
Ascended and descended Quandary's west ridge and decided to throw this in for fun. I think I'm going to have to come back to do the ridge between Fletcher and Atlantic! Looks awesome!

Made it to summit in high winds and near white out conditions. Absolutely no view from the summit but any day in the mountains is a good day!
