Beautiful early morning climb of Fletcher. Aspens at their peak for 2011.
With Quandary's west ridge.
It was tough getting up the gully to the connecting ridge with Quandary. I dislodged a 100# rock down onto my knee, but luckily lifted my leg which prevented major damage. Nice views of the original Holy Cross and not a soul to be seen.
Just wanted a quick hike that got me up high. This was just the ticket.
Climbed the east face couloir with Darin from McCullough Gulch. We took the main couloir that comes down directly from the summit, finished to the left side to avoid a cornice so not quite a direct finish. Narrow choke is starting to get icy and will probably melt out soon, get this one quickly for continuous snow!
Good snow conditions. Good coverage, but not quite enough for snowshoes. South Face had good accumulation. I would imagine this to be a fun ski descent. Contemplated the idea of linking the West Ridge of Quandary. Not today!
Took the standard route up, and the upper ridge back down. saw only one other couple that day.Awesome day in the mountains. I may have to stay off the over crowded fourteeners, from now on.
Up the Southeast ridge from the Blue Lake TH, then over to Drift. Great day with both summits to myself.
Climbed Fletcher with my 13 year old boy. Beautiful area. Great scrambling on the red route option displayed on the SP route page.
nice quick hike. Still a little snow along the way.
Very nice hike!
I climbed with my "usual suspect" companions
The beers at the trail head topped off a fun day
2nd summit of Fletcher.
nice day of running around up in this whole area....ended up on top of fletcher..
the wildflowers are really goin off :0
Left from Blue Lakes and climbed up the ridge to the left of the basin to avoid excessive snow in the basin. Couldn't avoid snow near the summit.
Awesome hike up the valley but gaining the ridge was absolutely brutal. Nothing but scree. My poor Labrador made it all the way up. See trip report.
Fun solo from Blue Lakes.
Solo- nice trail to Fletcher. Not a cloud to be seen. Headed over to Drift Peak next.
I saw enough of Mayflower Gulch this winter so decided to get this one from the other side in a short day.
