Peak 1 of 3  Sucess!

The most interesting part of the day was clinging for life on friable flakes going up Fletcher's SW body part. I'll call it Class 4 Jenga. Onward to Fletcher South from there and eventually Florence for a 30+ mile day.

From SW  Sucess!

Straight up from NE tip of Vogelsang Lake through the obvious scree and tree gully. The best line seemed to be far left against the vertical headwall. The summit feature at the top is a fun scramble, but I do not think it is class 2. Seemed like class 3 to me (albeit very short).

From Vogelsang Lake  Sucess!

Hiked with PCS group lead by Joe & Judy. Camped at Vogelsang Lake the day before. Took the most direct route from NE side of the lake. Class 2.

SW Slope  Sucess!

Another peak on a good weekend away from TML. Hit it up after Parsons and Earhart.

This was the start and end of an ambitious plan to traverse from Fletcher Peak to Parsons Peak (with 35 lb. pack), tag Simmons peak, then descend to Ireland lake. After one look at the traverse (not difficult, but long with significant up and down), the plan was scrapped in favor of descending then climbing Vogelsang Peak.

This was the second peak after Vogelsang in an ambitious program that was to include Parsons and Simmons. It was an insane idea it turns out, and we went no further. Simmons is impossibly far, and we didn't have the energy to slog up to Parsons. Great fun - Trip Report.

The second half of a Vogelsang-Fletcher dayhike with Bob and Michael. A thoroughly enjoyable weekend.
