flight to Tibet

This is Everest, Lhotse (all but indiscernible directly in front of Everest), while Nuptse is the prominent ridge on the left.

Also - wonder about the air-route: Everest on the right of the aircraft, wingtip shows plane heading roughly west or southwest, seems an unusual route for an aircraft to take to get to Tibet from the east? What are the "from" and "to" airports?
