Flowers in the "old"...

Flowers in the "old" streambed outflow from Ouzel Lake. Specifically, Lewis monkey flower (Mimulus lewisii). Thanks Mr. Stamm. August 2003.

Looks like a nice display of Lewis Monkeyflower

(Mimulus lewisii) This is typical habitat for them: creekbanks and seep slopes in subalpine meadows.

No typo. It's a term sometimes used by geologists for a damp slope with water seeping. (As we see in so many of the mountain meadows in the North Cascades.)

Right you are. Lots of "lewisii" species resulted from that little trip.
