Windy and a little foggy  Sucess!

Michael and I summited this one to count as the 6th peak of his goal of 80 peaks in his eightieth year. The fog burned off as we reached the summit and we got some nice views.

BUUUUUGGGGGGGGGSSSSSSSS  Sucess!

Everyone warned about the heat and the bugs, I thought I was prepared. There is no preparation for the amount of bugs that are there in late June. We used SO much bug spray, reapplied constantly, but it did not help. The biting gnats are relentless. We each came home with about 200 bug bites. It was hot, but we're pretty used to that, and were prepared for the heat. Nothing prepares you for the bugs. Also to note, the entrance fee to the park is now $15, not $10.
With that being said, it was gorgeous! We saw bison, coyote, deer, antelope, lizards, and the views were phenomenal.

Went a little too early  Sucess!

highly recommended hike  Sucess!

An hour and fifty minutes to the summit via the trail. The views start immediately and don’t stop the entire hike. If you’re in SLC in the spring or fall and have time, this is the hike you want to do. It’s that good.

Full moon hike  Sucess!

A beautiful sunset, then awesome moonrise. One other person at the top (Jackie from Lehi?). Took a long time to get back down and then home after midnight.

Nice hike with visiting father  Sucess!

Started on the trail around 7:30 a.m. before it got warm, got to the top. Slightly hazy, and a forest fire spotted. Saw some bison, and plenty of birds. Good day to get out.

Cold, Windy Day on Frary  Sucess!

Decided to skip skiing and go bag Frary. Even though my wife and I were bundled up the 30 degree wind chill was palpable. Wonderful views from the top and we had it all to ourselves! I love the Great Salt Lake!

Uparalleled Views  Sucess!

Hiked this wonderful peak with three of my friends. We started late, a little after 10 A.M., after driving out along the scenic if incredibly buggy causeway. The first section of the trail is phenomenal, with sweeping views of the Great Salt Lake and neat rock formations all around. Took a break to scramble up a few rocks, including a very cool little Class 3 chimney, then began the unbelievably green second portion. This part was rather tedious, but the gorgeous scenery made up for it, and the false summit is fairly quickly attained. We left the trail for the last section to the true summit, instead following the amazingly fun northern ridge of Frary. There was some optional Class 3 scrambling we took, and views really opened up along the mildly exposed ridge. The views from the summit, once the ridge was done, were simply indescribable. The Northern Wasatch dominated the E, with the Promontory Range to the N, the western desert ranges to the W, the Stansburys and Stansbury Island to the SW, and the Northern Oquirrhs to the S. The descent was less enjoyable, but I still very highly recommend this simply gorgeous little peak.

Frary  Sucess!

I really enjoyed this hike. I went with my wife a 2 daughters. It was much more scenic than I expected...and green (I guess March was a good time to go). It was pretty with nice views of the Great Salt Lake and the surrounding mountain ranges almost the entire hike. There were a lot of interesting rock formations as well. The last quarter mile before the summit was a bit muddy and slick, which made my wife and daughters a bit nervous, but they did it and were happy they made the summit.

Special little mountain  Sucess!

We left the airport, had lunch downtown then headed to Antelope Island for this hike. What a gem of a trail! Great hike, amazing views. The damage from the July 2016 fire is pretty startling, though. Lucked out with cool weather - only 82°F!

Frary Peak Trail  Sucess!

Did this as a fun little family outing on my birthday, when we were fortunate enough to have a window of warm enough weather for a snow-free summit. It offered some very unique scenery. See trip report for details.

Excellent Hike  Sucess!

Great climb. Made for a rigorous season starter. Near the summit the trail split and became confusing, but we did reach it in just over 2 hours.

Frary  Sucess!

Standard route with Bobby the boxer. A little bit of lingering snow. Lots of people on the trail in the afternoon once the sun came out.

Frary Peak Trail  Sucess!

Hiked this one solo; however, there were 3 trail runners coming down as I was hiking up and more than 75 people hiking up as I was hiking down so I was not alone. Nice temps for early March.
