From the Holland Peak Summit, this is looking east into the
Bob Marshall Wilderness. "The Bob," while not the largest wilderness in the Lower 48 (but, I believe, in the top five), is nevertheless huge, at its widest east to west girth measuring 60 miles as a crow flies, and from north to south, measuring 140 miles. Plenty of space in which to get lost! Holland Peak is the western high point, with
Rocky Mountain, at 9392' being the eastern high point. Looking into this area is quite thrilling; there is absolutely nothing out there but wilderness! Photo by Vernon, July 30, 2005.
