Mirror Lakes pass to summit lake to W couloir up the summit. Skied the North Couloir and went out the way we came in. One of my favorite peaks.

South Face from Bear Basin  Sucess!

Climbing this peak was a great way to celebrate the fourth of July, I even saw a Bald Eagle from the trail. A nice long hike with great scenery for most of the way, and the presence of Big Sky makes for a varied and interesting view.

Loop with a peak  Sucess!

My girlfriend and I did the loop from the Spanish Creek trail to Little Hellroaring, climbing Gallatin in the middle, in just under 11 hours. We ran the first five and most of the last five miles and took maybe 90 minutes worth of breaks, so we were both pretty drained by the end to say the least. We made our ascent on the west face up the most obvious and direct slide path/scree field, and it really wasn't that technical. Indian Ridge seemed like it took forever and we were worried we'd missed the turn back to Spanish Creek, but all junctions are very well marked, and it would take some pretty serious negligence to get lost.

West Couloir  Sucess!

We worked this climb into a 3 day backpacing trip starting at Spanish Ck. and hiking out to Big Sky on the N. Fork trail. Second day we hiked to Thompson Lk. and scrambled up the peak in prime conditions.

Loooooong Day  Sucess!

Went up via Hellroaring Creek today. It took me 9 hours round trip and I was really hurting at the end. I didn't see anyone else all day, strange for Labor Day weekend.

oops?  Sucess!

I think I put this in the wrong place, what a struggle. So much easier climbing the peak than creating the page....anyway I had a great day the weather and all was fine. Great views of surrounding peaks and the Gallatin Valley. Came home and saw there wasn't a page on this, the highest of the Spanish Peaks, so I made one. Enjoy
