Peako de Gallo  Sucess!

Peak two of two, with Peak 10,057 first. Well maintained trail to the crest, then a faint trail to Peak 10,057. The trail to Gallo is harder to find after a short while, but the summit isn't hard to get to.

Via Red Canyon  Sucess!

We did this in conjunction with peak 10,057. As opposed to the that peak you go right from the saddle. However, unlike that peak, the crest trail disappears even before you leave the saddle. No worries, follow the ridge line .23 miles to the summit from the saddle. A little bit of a bushwhack here, but it is apparent others have been to the summit. Also, unlike 10,057 the summit has a pretty solid view of about 300 degrees SW to N to SE. Nice little day hike.

Red Canyon Trail  Sucess!

Got a late start on the hike, and I was planning on linking this with Manzano Peak, but ran out of time. Nice little hike though.

Nice day until the storms rolled in. Still a few patches of snow near the top from a storm a week ago.

S Ridge  Sucess!

Traversing the crest trail, we found ourselves on top of this peak.

Route Climbed: Red Canyon Trail Date Climbed: August 2, 2005  Sucess!

A beautiful day with just enough clouds to provide shade. The last thrust on the ridge coming from the south was quite an adventure.
