Overview

Getting There

Garner Creek trailhead located about 8 miles east of 285/17 intersection. Take GG and 65 to well marked TH/parking.

Route Description

Follow obvious trail for several miles. Trail becomes faint as it gains elevation. Crosses Garner Pass (located between UN13123 and Thirsty Pk). Follow easy ridge up large talus to Thirsty Pk summit.

NOTE: The trail is in good condition for the first mile or so, at which point it turns nasty. There are probably at least 1,000 downed trees crossing the trail (not underestimated). The trail disappears for large sections at a time. The numerous creeks cross-over and drown out the trail at spots. The mosquitos are horrendous. The trail up to the pass is very braided and loose.

Highly recommend another route (i.e. Hot Springs Canyon over Cottonwood Pk)
