Thanks mrwsierra. I have never been disappointed with the sunsets up in Humphreys Basin. I always seem to go when there are afternoon thunderstorms in July/August, and there are always beautiful sunsets.
I have to add that I was in that area the same evening but was camped up at Muriel Lake. We had some close lightning strikes, one which made my hair stand on end. The sunset that evening was spectacular...so were the mosquitos!
Yeah, the mosquitos were horrible that week. Like Chinese water torture. In fact, this storm was a blessing in disguise, as that was the only time the wind kicked up and blew the little bastards away! We were at Muriel the year before, at a secret little spot on the west side of the lake that is perfect! I love that basin! Many great sunsets every year. Thanks for the kind words!
A very nice sunset! Perhaps one of these days I may end up going to Nevada.
Cheers Josh Lewis.
Thanks! If you'd like to this area though, you'll have to go, not to Nevada, but the Sierra Nevada range.
