Glacier National Park Rising Wolf Panorama

THE GRANDEUR OF GLACIER NATIONAL PARK Please click on the image for a larger view This staggering view is what a tenacious climber is rewarded with after ascending Rising Wolf Mountain, in the Two Medicine area in the southern end of Glacier National Park. In this view, left to right are Flinsch Peak in the foreground (a true glacial horn), Mount Pinchot (directly behind Flinsch), and to the right, Mount Stimson (one of Glacier's difficult 10ers). To the right of Flinsch is Mount Morgan, with Pitamakan Pass to its right, and McClintock Peak to the right of the pass. To the right of the pass is Razor Edge Mountain. Eaglehead Mountain (9140') is in the upper left, and in front of it (seen easier in the larger version) is Peril Peak (8645'). Further to the right, the mountain with all the snow is Blackfoot, and behind it, barely visible, is the summit ridge of Mount Jackson. In the lower foreground (right) a trail can be seen ascending to Cut Bank Pass, behind Mount Morgan. Old Man and Young Man lakes are also in the foreground. Many other summits need to be named.
