Route Climbed: Soleus Ridge Date Climbed: January 29th, 2005  Sucess!

I climbed this with Joe Bullough last Saturday, heading up a steep ridge I dubbed Soleus Ridge due to the excessive strain the hill put on our calves. My inclinometer measures much of the ridge to be 40 degrees steep. After summiting on fine styrofoam snow, we continued over to Mt Raymond and back down to Butler Fork in time for me to catch a Sundance Movie - all in all a perfect day.

Route Climbed: Alexander, Bowman, Butler, Dog Lake Date Climbed: numerous  Sucess!

My favorite trip is to go up Bowman in the spring, then glissade down Alexander's, then take the cutoff trail back to Bowman...The ridge to Dog Lake isn't bad either...

Route Climbed: Porter Fork - Descended via Thayne Canyon Date Climbed: August 2001  Sucess!

Nice hike with a sustained steep trail. Not technical in the least bit, but good for exercise and getting outside.

I went on to climb Mt Raymond via the North East Ridge.

Route Climbed: All Date Climbed: Various and Many  Sucess!

This is a great after work hike by any approach. I climb this every year for exercise. I have approached by Porter Fork, Butler Fork and Baker Pass, Butler Fork and Dog's Lake approach and Alexander Basin. I would have to say my favorite is the Alexander Basin approach. Gobbler's is possible in winter by any of the aforementioned approaches.

Gobblers Knob  Sucess!

Several times. Last time was in November 11 1995 via Butler Fork.

Bowman Fork may be the most scenic route.

Route Climbed: Butler Fork Date Climbed: July 20, 2002  Sucess!

I hiked this in preparation for Lone Peak. It's a nice hike, not too difficult, though the last stretch from Baker Pass up to the summit is pretty steep and rocky. There are great views all around. On the way down I stopped off at Circle All Peak. That's the 8,707 foot point on the ridge separating Butler Fork and Mill A Gulch, and is a nice hike in itself.
