Planned to start from Bowman Fork but passed it and ended up starting at Alexander Basin. Hiked with Caroline and Dustin. Short but steep! The top was pretty fun and had some good views. It inspired us to hike Mount Raymond.
7/17/15 - Solo Trail Run from Butler Fork
Hiked through Alexander Basin one night after work. Beautiful sunset over the valley.
09/26/09 - Did this solo as a twofer with Mt. Raymond from Butler Fork.
08/29/10 - Morning hike via Alexander Basin with Chris, Sarah and John. Back by noon.
Plentiful wild flowers, wild animals and wild lightning coming down. A great day!!!
Great ski line down the southeast face.
Ski ascent with a bunch of friends via Butler. Skied the east face.

4/23/2009 From the MC road/Bowman Fork with Moogie737. My 35th time.
3/7/2008 I started out thinking it was going to take forever since I had to break trail. But, once I hit Circle All Pass there was a nice crust and things went a lot quicker. Nice, beautiful sunny day. My 33rd time to the top. Saw no one.
Climbed via Mill B
March 5, 2016. Snowshoed in from Butler Fork, crossed the first saddle (circle all???), then turned north and up the south running ridge that juts off the peak. Pretty steep, took 4.5 hours to reach the peak. Warm day, too warm for this early in March, and the snow was very soft on the descent.
Jan 16, 2010 - Skinned up from Butlers Fork, over circle all, up to the saddle between Raymond and Gobblers then up to the 10,224 ft peak. Skied down the east side of the 10,224 ft peak, and worked our way back to BCC road.
Nov 28, 2009 - From Mill Creek Canyon
Climbed up via the Bowman Fork trail from Mill Creek Canyon. Enjoyed the views once I reached the saddle between Raymond Peak and Gobblers Knob. Looking south it was great to see the Cottonwood ridge. Interestingly, there was a moose feeding about 10 feet below the peak.
An enjoyable hike on a beautiful day. Met Eric from SLC on the summit and he clued me in to all the peaks I was looking at.
Fun day hike! Beautiful scenery at the top in all directions. The last ten minutes or so to the summit required us hiking in the snow, which wasn't as bad as expected seeing I was in shorts. A good incline at the start, but nothing too hard. A hike I'd definitely do again.
Bushwacked from Butler Fork route to the S ridge. A couple of mildly entertaining scrambles along the way to the false summit.
Did with Mt. Raymond early in the morning, down before 8 a.m. Trip report with map and pictures at
North ridge from Bowman Fork. Skied two laps on the northwest face (summitted both times) in settled (but deep and faceshot-friendly) powder.
Also summer-hiked it with my kid brother back in '02ish.
I get up it 2-3 times a a summer and ski it sometimes doing laps though don't quit summit on most laps.
Headed up via Butler Fork. A nice half day climb.
Did a quick up-and-down hike of Gobblers Knob on a nice September afternoon. Went solo but ran into a chummy bow hunter on the way down.
All by myself on this one. Attempted earlier in the season but had to turn back due to weather. Did not see anyone on this climb and I really enjoyed the solitude. On top of the ridge I saw lady bugs galoure clumped together. I nice day hike. Hope to go back in the spring of 08'and do both Gobblers Knob and Mount Raymond.
This hike is cool because it is much milder than the peaks adjacent to it.
6-10-07: Bowman Fork with Fresh snow
10-14-07: Porter Fork with snow too
