Ascended in the fog, summit under the sun and descended in the rain  Sucess!

Nadie and me ascended Gorbea from Pagomakurre in an odd summer day. Finally I climbed it since some attempts when I was a child. It was very pleasant and nice, even the views of Aldamin and the sea of clouds were so beautiful. And there were few people on the mountain because it was a workable day.

A winter climb  Sucess!

Wet snow, low clouds and strong winds got together to make this a hard winter climb. We started from the parking lot by the Gorbea barrage and reached the summit in about 2 hours and a half

winter day  Sucess!

It was a very hard day with strong wind and a little of rain. The mountain had snow in bad conditions after the rain of last days and with the wind it was very difficult to walk. We climbed from Murua and I'll write the route someday.

Foggy day  Sucess!

Interesting practice of orientation with GPS in a dense fog. I climbed Peña Lekanda, Kutxak, Gatzarrieta and finally Gorbea. The visit to karts of Itxina near of route of Pagomakurre is very special with the beautiful Peña Lekanda and a good complement to the climb. No views in the summits, no views in the walk, no views in anywhere... with the coordinates of the summits in GPS it was simple but without it I think is easy the lost in foggy days in the wide green area from Arraba.

Route Climbed: Normal Date Climbed: Many times 1997-1998  Sucess!

I have been there many times. This is my house-mountain. It has been always a pleasant way up. The longest way up I ever did is from the small chapel of San Justo (+/- 400 mtrs) up till the top. The way through the 'Itxina' karst is always very misterious route. Next time I will walk it up from Alava through beautiful and wide oak forests.

Route Climbed: Pagomakurre Date Climbed: Spring-summer in late 70s

I've attempted Gorbea some times but I can't remember how many. I went with my father in all the tries and probably some of my brothers, my mother and friends. I've never reached the summit so I'm in debt to this nice mountain

Route Climbed: Barazar-Soldropo Date Climbed: 19th june 2004  Sucess!

Great sunny day without persons in the mountain in a tuersday (not possible in week-end). Only some mountaineers in the summit and a lot of horses, sheeps, cows,...grazing in a very green mountain. Beautiful trees and funny climb to Aldamin as well. A good overcharge of nature and pure air for the mind!
