I cant help

thinking that the German "Königsspitze" (Royal Peak) is a much more fitting name for this great peak than just being the big brother of Monte Zebrù.

you may be right but

Dear Ejnar, you may be right but you should know the legend in the valley. Johannes Zebrusius was a prince in the area in the XII century known as the Gran Zebrù. Back from the crusade he retired alone in the valley and died after 30 years of that life. His soul is still there in a big rock on the mountain. In any case the Gran Zebrù is a great climbing! Re: you may be right but

Thank you, I didn't know that, and often wondered how Monte Zebrù got called so. But then actually the Italian name Gran Zebrù is also a princely name for this beautiful mountain!
