North Rim to the bridge
My wife and I hike down about half way in elevation to the bridge about 2,500 and about 4 miles. Well worth the hike. Sunset at the North Rim was awesome. 2015 would like to do a rim to rim.

Rim to Rim to Rim
Via North Kaibab, Bright Angel and then reverse the route. Emerged snail-like at the North Kaibab TH in under 24 hours. Someday I will return to this beautiful canyon and hike to enjoy it in a more thoughtful way. Need I note this was a solo effort? For some reason I was unsuccessful in recruiting others to try the hike with me. :) IVD

R2R2R
45 miles in 24 hours & 15 minutes of nonstop solo hiking. I know it's a weak time but I'll do better next time. This place has almost unimaginable beauty. On one hand I'm glad I spent 24 hours in the Canyon. Now I know how it feels/looks round the clock.
We visited the South Rim 17-9-2005 and the North Rim a day later.
I remember walking from the parking space towards the Canyon...I was speechless for minutes. Not a single photo does justice to the immense size of the GC. What a place to visit :-) We hiked down for a couple of hours and back up. In the future I want to go down all the way to the river, so I will be back!

Hiking Tourist
Camped the North Rim...hiked everything that didn't involve long, long descents into hellish heat and/or mules. Uttered numerous "holy-craps!" and "wows!".
One note...don't expect a desert-ish North Rim; the forest is nice, thick, and runs right up to the rim.

My first
My first backpacking trek. Hiked down the snow covered South Kaibab and up the Bright Angel. Spent two nights at Phantom Ranch. Feasted on "hikers' stew" and "all I could eat breakfast." Expensive, but worth every penny. Hiked out-and-back on the Clear Creek Trail the second day. Practically froze-to-death in my "old" sleeping bag during those cold November nights. So cold I couldn't sleep! Been hooked on getting away from the crowds every since.
never went all the way down but went half way down a couple trails. love to do rim to rim some day

Grandest Canyon on Earth
I've traveled my fair share, and this is the best view on Earth in my opinion. This was my fourth trip to the Canyon, and it will never disappoint, ever! No matter the time of day, or year, it will amaze you. I have hiked to the bottom via the Bright Angel trail before. This trip was just a stop by, to say hi and snap pics with my GF however!
I have visited Grand Canyon many times, hiked South Kaibab, North Kaibab, Bright Angel, Hermit, Horseshoe Mesa. Many of these inner hikes were done as a day hike although the park discourages it, most solo. One of my favorites was a run down South Kaibab, nap at the ranch, and up Bright Angel - about 10 hrs.

South Kaibab to Tonto to Bright Angel = one of the most stunning hikes of my life! I am still undecided as to whether this hike or Zion Canyon is in first place.

Several touristy short hikes
Took the drive along the southern rim and tripped through a lot of snow on several different short jaunts to scenic overlooks. My Civic at the time barely had enough in it to make it through the decent amount of snow at the rim elevation, and still kicking myself for not bringing camping gear to hike down in and stay overnight.
