North Rim Overlooks  Sucess!

Walked out to some of the impressive canyon overlooks like Bright Angel Point, Angels Window, and Cape Royal, though my favorite overlook view was probably the one from Point Imperial, which is the highest spot along the north rim.

Backpacking the GC  Sucess!

December 18-23 backpacking the GC through BSU. Beautiful hike with on night on the rim, 2 at Phantom and 2 at Indian. Day hikes to the waterfall past Phantom and Grandview point (my favorite spot). Light rain made for a beautiful double rainbow across the canyon at Grandview!

Hermit Trail

Went on an amazing six day backpack loop on the Hermit Trail with some great folks. This was my first time in the Grand canyon and it really blew my mind. I will be back.

RRR  Sucess!

One more Rim to Rim to Rim under my belt. Every time I go down into the canyon I discover something new, amazing, jaw dropping. There is talk that the bureaucracy at the Grand Canyon Administration is trying to introduce permits for anyone doing a Rim to Rim or Rim to River to Rim. That would be so awful. They should spend some energy and money in fixing those trails, not enforcing bureaucracy.

Around the South Rim  Sucess!

Need to go back and go to the bottom. Views are of course amazing and can't be compared to anything.

Surreal Experience  Sucess!

Went there for 2 days with my family as part of a larger vacation. While there, we enjoyed the beautiful views from the North Rim, went to Bright Angel Point twice, and went to all of the Cape Royal Area viewpoints. We saw sights such as the Brahma and Zoroaster Temples, Angels Window, and I located a total of 3 USGS BMs--1 on Bright Angel and 2 at Cape Royal. Views were truly spectacular, would highly recommend this wonder of the world.

Down South Kaibab trail in the morning. Break at Phantom Ranch for lunch and lemonade. Up Bright Angel trail in time for the sunset. Beautiful weather. Long day.

Bill Hall Trail to Deer Creek-Thunder River Loop  Sucess!

Wild weather: flash-boom lightening, rain, wind, hail... had to dry out every morning. But nothing could wipe the sh%t-eatin' grins off our faces. Deer Creek slot canyon, the River Route and Tapeats Creek make for some wild hiking among remote, sublime wildness. The Esplanade is magical. The trail overall is steep and rugged. A fair bit of route-finding required. Saw but a handful of people everyday.

Keep it natural.  Sucess!

Every time I visit this place, it looks different, more beautiful, more interesting. My only wish would be that visitors would be more considerate to hikers coming up on the trails.

South Kaibab  Sucess!
