Nearby Peak

Since you used the gondola, the nearby peak you took this from looks like it would be Squaw Peak.

Looks to me like it was taken from Emigrant Peak (Peak 8774ft on the map). Needle Peak can be seen peeking up on the left ridgeline. The lower left edge of the photo is the source of the Middle Fork of the American River.

Immigrant peak it is (pulled out my Squaw Valley map) so you nailed it. There was a little monument in the saddle below it which explained how a road was built through there. I love to ski there when I am down there in the ski season. How about one of your great panorama shots Spence?

I would hope that I got it right after having a pass at Squaw for 19 years.

Sorry, I don't have a panorama from Granite Chief, even though I've been on its summit more than any other peak. The fact that it's only about 400 vert. from the top of the lift to the summit might have something to do with that. :)
