Re: Looks like

why - isn't our planet good enough, or why suppose that something beautiful doesn't really fit in here?

Re: Looks like

What I meant was that the photo seemed completely lifeless, and there was something un-earthly, but beautiful about the colours and the whole setting. The two lakes might have been pools of methane on Triton or something like that! Most mountain photos are immediately recognizable as being from the earth.

Re: Looks like

I largely agree. However, when I have been on Triton recently, I found the atmosphere much more hazy, the light less clear and above all, no such sharp peak.

I Agree ...

I agree with others who've mentioned another planet. My first reaction, before reading their comments, was, "Gee, I didn't know there was water and ice on the moon!" Nice capture with beautiful colors; thanks for sharing. --mark d.

Excellent. Still trying to warp my brainpan around where this photo was taken from. I'm thinking looking straight to the northeast? Great shot.

Royce Lakes

I was at Royce Lakes approximately 30 years ago. I was drawn to to the stark granite landscape... there was always something pure and simple at those elevations. Your photo capture that spirit, thanks for posting it.
