Area of Access:

The Graves Creek Trailhead is used to access the central and northern portions of the Jewel Basin.

Getting There:

Travel south along the Westside road of Hungry Horse reservoir to the end of the pavement (16 miles) and continue until reaching the Graves Creek road (FS # 897). Turn right and drive past Handkershief Lake (which has awesome fishing for trout and Grayling) for approximately 2 miles to the trailhead.

Trails Access from Graves Creek Trailhead:

Trail # 1 with access to Black Lake, the Jewel Lakes, Blackfoot Lake and Picnic Lakes. Will also give off trail access to Cliff Lake and Seven Acres Lakes. Will also put you in close proximity to the peask associated with those lakes.

Trail #55 with access to Clayton Lake and the peaks in the northern part of the Jewel Basin.
