Route Climbed: East route Date Climbed: August 10, 2002  Sucess!

Chris Verdugo joined me on this one soon after I began working on county highpoints. The estimated 5,500 feet total elevation gain and loss were keenly felt by the end of this hike. Great views of Mts. Deception and Olympus.

Walked straight up, then followed the ridge to Tyler Peak, then turned around ans followed the ridge until False Baldy, and then descended via the Mainard Burns trail. Great weather, great views.

Route Climbed: Eastside route Date Climbed: 23 July 2004  Sucess!

Great climb with a great COHPing team of myself, Dean, Bob, Roy, and Kevin. It was warm, but you can't complain when it doesn't rain on the Olympic Peninsula.

Route Climbed: Eastside trail Date Climbed: July 23, 2004  Sucess!

5 of us met to knock off this county highpoint and represented 5 states in doing so = Georgia, Arizona, California, Oregon and Washington (me).

We had a great day of perfect weather but all of us used at least 4 liters of water on this scorcher of a day.

The trail doesn't use switchbacks, it goes straight up and then later in the day you have to deal with hiking straight down, a good test for the quads and knees.
