My 20th & 21st

Grays & Torreys via Stephens Gulch. Great day with 19 other men from Christ Church Plano. 8 of us got the double, with another 3 or 4 successfully bagging Grays. Pretty hike down in the Gulch and fantastic views at the summits.

After Torreys Peak

Easy hike up to the summit. Summited Torreys Peak first via Kelso Ridge, that was the highlight of the day, awesome and fun scramble!

The hardest thing... was going back to the TH. I had to yield to the crowds going up. It took me almost 2 hours just to get back to the parking lot.

Other than that.. awesome morning!

Easy...

Getting buzzed on the summit by two F-16s was the highlight of the day. Otherwise, the crowds.....

Our 1st 14er !

My 9yr old and i finished our 1st ! Grays Peak, 9 hrs.to complete. Camped out night before with beautiful weather.
Started @6:30 am, reached summit at 11:30 and ascended @3:30
Met many kind peeps who complimented and motivated my son.
Thank you all for cheering him on !
He made it ! Very proud of him !

Lost Rat

Elbrus preparation hike, 3rd time on Grays. I tagged along with some CMCers who are climbing Rainier in early July. We climbed up the Lost Rat, then over to the summit. There was a mountain goat hanging around the top of the couloir. The group split up at the summit. I did not go for Torreys. Lots and lots of hikers on a beautiful day.

not that easy with snow

Climbed in March 17th with not that big snow like other years, but from I-70, not from trailhead, and with snow on that road all the time.

Dead Dog Couloir on Torreys + Grays

Tagged Grays after climbing the Dead Dog Couloir on Torreys with Kevin (shknbke). A bit chilly on top but other than that, a beautiful day!

2nd try is the charm

This was to be my first CO 14er when I tried it in Sept. 2011 in running clothes (gear hadn't arrived with me yet). Surprised for snow, drifts above my knees (not good for breathable tennis shoes), and white out. This time around, PERFECTest weather - light wind, cool temps, plenty of sunshine. Bagged Torreys also. Totally worth the 2nd attempt :)
