With Torreys. Among my favorite fourteeners (so far).
Fun day hiking!
Took Kelso ridge to Torrys and then to Grays.
Did Kelso ridge that day on Torreys. Fun stuff!
Crowded, even in 1994.
This was my first 14er. I don't know the actual date because I wasn't keeping a journal at the point and didn't intend to turn into a peak bagger. I know it was a holiday weekend and the weather was beautiful so I picked July 4th weekend. We went up Grays and traversed over to Torreys. Sunny and clear all day...one of those days that hooks you into wanting to climb more peaks.
As the 2nd summit of the day & the 1st pair to summit either, we had a truly special experience...
Climbed from the highway, first snow hike in Colorado, nice day standard route and carry on to Torreys.
Cimbed this with my buddy Johnny in the Summer of 2005. Good climb, cold at the top. Some snow on the way down made for a good glisade!
I've visited this summit 6 times all together.
The morning started out pretty interesting. I and Randy arrived at the TH around 4:00am and didn't realize until we started to leave the car neither one of us brought a flashlight.
We made it up however. Weather turned frighfully cold that afternoon. Saw some sheep and summited Torries also.
This was my 2nd 14er. A nice hike up to Grays then over to Torreys. Pictures sucked due to haziness caused by the wildfires that summer.
Full Moon Hike, summit at 2.30am, my second time up this peak. The first was in June of 2003 via Chihuahua Gulch when I lived in Chicago (then my first 14er!)
Climbed after work at 7pm. Unbelievable with a full moon. Watch out for grouchy goats. This was my 2nd ascent of Grays.
Hit it after Kelso Ridge on Torreys which was awesome.
Solo, following line of people up the trail.
After spending a beautiful morning on Torreys, this summit felt a little crowded as I clinched a rock and claimed it, cause it seemed that there was not enough space for all of us. Ton of people, and a bunch of bozos with a satellite radio trying to setup a transmitter provided minutes of entertainment. I quickly departed for my next summit....
Clear day, only saw one other climber that day. Not much snow. Bagged Torreys as well. With partner Chuck.
1st 14er for my son Chris and I. Beautiful day. Lots of people! Ran into Tom Strickland on our way down. Decided to never again do a 14er, up and back in 1 day-must aclimatize!
Bagged Grey's and Torres on the same day. Great weather, just a little windy.
