Got stormed off the traverse :-(
This was my 3rd 14er. I really enjoyed it.
in a land far far away people climb mountains in the dark
Having grown up in this area I have done this hike over and over, I still love it every time.
Good hike up Grays trail, down to the saddle and returned via Torrey's trail. Beautiful weather, a LOT of snow and ice.
My first Colorado 14er. Beautiful weather.
30 minutes to traverse from Torrys.
First Colorado 14er for my wife and I; we hiked up the easy Grays Peak Trail and managed to get off before a major hail storm. The road going up to the trailhead was virtually unpassable in our Ford Focus, but after filling in the first ditch a bit, we were able to pass; we wouldn't recommend this however.
a great combo day hike w/ torreys. couldnt ask for a better day, not a cloud in the sky.
Up the Dead Dog, over to Grays, and back down on a long glissade with Tim and Eric.
Very nice climb and great views, whenever the clouds moved away that is...
my first taste of high altitude hiking, Ive been addicted ever since!
Jennifer's and mine first successful 14er summit!
In September of 2007, I made it up my first 14er. Gray's wasn't that hard to hike. It had some great views. It had a lot of people hiking it. I loved your picture.
This completed my sixth fourteener summit this week. On to Torreys!
This was not only my 1st 14er but also the 1st hike I ever went on. I did this 3 years ago. I'm an addict now.
I am also a counselor on my down time from climbing. I took the clients up grays and torreys and they kicked butt.
Nasty, nasty weather on the 7th caused me to bail before bagging Torreys, but I did reach the summit of Grays for my first 14er!
My first CO 14er. Got altitude sickness as I came from sea level. Amazingly, my brother who also came from sea level didn't feel the effects of altitude. Great hike to acclimatize to.
Climbed after ascending Torreys.
