"After the first glass, you see things as you wish they were. After the second, you see things as they are not. Finally, you see things as they really are, which is the most horrible thing in the world."

Nice viewsHave climbed Green Mountain several times on foot and bike. On a clear day you have a great view of the city and the eastern plains. There are several trails which are nice for off-season training or just to get outside for a little while.

Several ascentsHave hiked this several times, some solo, some with the kids I worked with...that was the most rewarding. While I have summited personally, we didn't reach the summit with work but the young kids I hiked with had such confidence and pride in the hike that they accomplished.

One of My FirstI lived in Lakewood when I was younger and loved hiking up there. Probably one of the places that got me interested in hiking. Thanks for putting it up.

Route Climbed: West Slopes I think.I attempted to bike up Green mountain a couple of weeks after moving to Denver from the midwest. It was a bad idea. I ended up walking most of the way up, but the ride down was sweet.

Route Climbed: Green MountainTrail Date Climbed: February 4, 2006Great views of Mt. Evans and Longs Peak. Was surprised with the number of mountain bikers. If I lived in Denver this would be an after work place for sure.

Route Climbed: East Route Date Climbed: September, 2004This isn't much of a mountain, but a nice addition to SP anyway. I haven't actually HIKED this peak before; only biked it. I have reached the top, though! It's a great view above Lakewood, and a popular destination for runners, cyclists, and day-hikers.
